Euromoney recognizes RZB as "Best bank in Austria"

Raiffeisen Zentralbank Österreich AG (RZB) was recently awarded the "Best Bank in Austria" title from the esteemed British financial magazine Euromoney for the second year in a row and for the fourth time overall.

Euromoney also awarded Raiffeisen with local "best bank" titles for the Albanian and Ukrainian markets.

"Being recognized as the best bank in Austria not only underlines our strong positioning in corporate banking and the excellent quality of our products and services, but also underpins our sustainable business model and the quality of our measures in response to the crisis," said RZB CEO Walter Rothensteiner.

RZB is the central institution of the Austrian Raiffeisen Banking Group, the largest banking group in the country. With a balance sheet total of EUR150 billion at the end of the first quarter of 2010, RZB is Austria's third-largest bank. RZB's focus lies in providing products and services to Austria's top 1,000 enterprises.

Albania
Euromoney recognized Raiffeisen Bank Sh.a. as the "Best Bank in Albania" for the sixth time. The bank was acquired by Raiffeisen International in 2004 and is Albania's largest bank, with a balance-sheet total of EUR 1.89 billion at the end of the first quarter of 2010. Raiffeisen Bank Sh.a. services almost 593,000 customers in 104 branches.

Ukraine
VAT Raiffeisen Bank Aval, which won Euromoney's "Best Bank in Ukraine" title for the second year in a row and for the third time in total, had a balance sheet total of EUR 5.33 billion at the end of the first quarter of 2010, making it the fourth-largest bank in Ukraine. The bank provides products and services to nearly 4.9 million customers through a network of 938 branch outlets.
