Johannes Schuster joins the Board of RZB

The Supervisory Board of Raiffeisen Zentralbank Österreich AG (RZB) has appointed Johannes Schuster as member of the Managing Board of the "new" RZB.

He is currently head of division at RZB. Schuster will take over its new position as soon as the new structure of the group is approved by the public authorities and recorded in the commercial register. Together with Chairman Walter Rothensteiner and Chief Risk Officer Johann Strobl, Johannes Schuster will then represent the Managing Board of the central institution of the Austrian Raiffeisen Banking Group.

Business economist Johannes Schuster has worked for the Raiffeisen Banking Group since 1995. He began in the Economics department of Regional Raiffeisen Bank Upper Austria (RLB OÖ), then became Assistant to CEO Ludwig Scharinger and finally Head of Marketing. He moved to RZB in 1999. Since then he has been Assistant to CEO Walter Rothensteiner and Head of the RZB Sector Office and Management Secretariat. He is also the managing director of Österreichische Raiffeisen-Einlagensicherung reg.Gen.m.b.H.

Johannes Schuster distinguished himself in numerous projects under his leadership, including brand launches within the scope of his remit for RLB OÖ and the implementation of an RZB efficiency enhancement project. In particular, he also proved himself in heading up the nationwide Raiffeisen Banking Group project for introducing the Euro, for Basel II and for "New clearing", and in doing so put his outstanding integrative skills, extraordinary results focus and excellent management competence to the test.

Born in Freistadt, Upper Austria, in 1970, he completed his studies in Economics at the Johannes Kepler University in Linz and his doctorate in Business Administration at the University of Vienna. The manager with a passion for culture and sports is married and the father of two children. Among his responsibilities within RZB is Corporate Responsibility and consequently he also holds honorary positions. Johannes Schuster is Vice Chairman of the Association of Business and Integration as well as board member of the Raiffeisen Climate Protection Initiative and of the Association of Upper Austrians in Vienna.
